Los miembros de Talking Heads, Chris Frantz y David Byrne, se conocieron cuando eran estudiantes en la Escuela de Dise\u00f1o de Rhode Island y tocaban en una banda universitaria llamada The Artistics. En el semestre de primavera de 1974, la banda se reuni\u00f3 en el apartamento de Frantz en Benefit Street para grabar una maqueta. El cassette inclu\u00eda temas que pronto se convertir\u00edan en cl\u00e1sicos de la discograf\u00eda de Talking Heads: \u00abWarning Sign\u00bb y \u00abPsycho Killer\u00bb.
