Félix Rossy – Elena Mágica

Elena Mágica is Félix Rossy’s latest album, where, yet again, the trumpet player and composer shows his deep commitment to music as he searches for new pathways to express himself. With the unmistakeable sound of his trumpet, he reveals new textures and risk-taking harmonies on this contemporary jazz outing.

For the project, Félix Rossy has put together a quintet of admired musicians, featuring Tomeu Garcies on trombone, Toni Saigi on piano, Joan Garcies on double bass, and Andreu Pitarch on drums. Together they explore the varied landscapes of the jazz universe through the lens of their own unique language; a product of their creativity and intuition.

The songs on Elena Mágica include the Félix Rossy originals Gurú, Surprises, Purple Mirrors, and Elena, along with Confluencias by Enrique Oliver, the saxophonist from Malaga who also participates in the recording, as well as Rouge, a fantastic ballad by the late trumpet great Roy Hargrove.

This album also features the collaboration of singer Carmen Lancho from Madrid, who joins the group on Purple Mirrors.
